SharePoint Deployment Planning Services (SDPS)

SDPS is a new Software Assurance Packaged Services benefit. SDPS is designed to help organizations plan an effective deployment of Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007. SDPS includes a broad range of planning tools and services that help optimize the effectiveness of SharePoint's core capabilities, and help lower the cost of deployment and adoption.
SDPS matches customers with a certified partner who will conduct a highly effective planning process for deploying or getting more out of a customer's SharePoint investment. SDPS provides a reliable, repeatable process for certified SDPS consultants to conduct a 1, 3, 5, 10 or 15-day programmatic planning sessions using Software Assurance benefits. You will want to ensure you are part of this program!

At the end of the engagement, you will have a customized roadmap for your unique environment that includes a comprehensive business plan, timelines and resources to help you successfully transform your collaborative processes by using Office SharePoint Server.
An SDPS engagement focuses on three main MSSP sections: Qualify and Develop, Solution, Proof, mapping these to Solution Development, Strategy Briefing and Architecture Design, and Proof of Concept and Production Pilot respectively. Not all SDPS engagements include all of these sections. For example, only the 10-and 15-day engagements provide a Proof-of-Concept.

One Day Engagement
Gather requirements at a high level and results in a set of strategic recommendations.
Three Day Engagement
Further analysis or requirements and results in a design and deployment plan. Also introduces SharePoint technologies, solutions and concepts to the customers.
Five Day Engagement
Expands on the Three Day offering, and adds a virtual lab session to give the customer a hands-on understanding of the technologies.
Ten Day Engagement
Expands on the Five Day offering, provides a leave behind lab, and includes a revision session to incorporate lessons learned in the deployment plan. Also Proof of Concept demonstrates the solution in the customer's environment.
Fifteen Day Engagement
Expands on the Ten Day offering and results in a production pilot. Also Proof of Concept demonstrates the solution in the customer's environment.
